WHY IS IT DANGEROUS TO ATTRIBUTE PROGRESS TO CAPITALISM

So, there's this idea, navigating through our consciousness that Capitalism brought an unprecedented progress to mankind. Well, I think it didn't. Capitalism was an answer to the Industrial revolution, and not the catalyst. It was already happening — All these inventions that were taking place didn't happen because of Capitalism, but because that's what we do,
We dream, we create, we innovate.
We've always been evolving, we've tamed fire to enlighten that which we feared, to warm us throughout those cold blue nights and, to cook our meals, we've mastered communication to express how we feel, we started to write, we invented the wheel, we invented paper and how to close a deal, we understood mathematics, we built fascinating structures, we invented printing and mass-produced books, we invented democracy, mechanical clocks and microscopes and learned more about biology, we invented the steam-engine and telescopes, and all of this, happened before Capitalism. This leads me to believe that is not only wrong, but dangerous, to attribute progress to this system that is actually hindering it, for some will think the only way forward is through this system of deliberate individualization and collective castration.
